Charlie Dennie has joined the WV Development Office as Director of Broadband. Charlie formerly served as Vice-President of Government Relations and Special Projects at Alpha Technologies in Charleston, WV. He has been in the telecommunications industry for over 30 years and has recently been active in several legislative initiatives removing barriers to broadband construction in West Virginia. He recently oversaw the construction of a 35-mile fiber optic ring ranging from Alpha’s data center at the West Virginia Regional Technology Park in South Charleston to the Charleston and South Charleston business districts. This project will be the first to bring synchronous gigabit services to the area. Charlie is a life-long resident of West Virginia and is a graduate of West Virginia State University where he earned his Bachelor’s in economics and political science.
