Dr. Michelle Taylor

Dr. Michelle Taylor was born and raised in Princeton, WV.  She attended West Virginia University (WVU) for her undergraduate degree in foreign language with a concentration in French. After graduating, she worked as a regional sales manager for a Baltimore area company; during this time her interest in learning business increased. She returned to her home state to pursue a masters degree and quickly found her place at Bluefield State University in 2009. Dr. Taylor graduated WVU (a second time) with a MBA in 2011 and began teaching as an Adjunct Instructor (all while working full-time as an admissions counselor and college cheer coach). In 2014, Dr. Taylor joined the full-time faculty in Bluefield State College’s W. Paul Cole Jr. School of Business. She is now the Department Chair for the School of Business and a tenured Associate Professor of Business. In May 2020, she completed her doctorate in Higher Education and Organizational Change from Benedictine University with research focused on the needs and motivations of minority students. Dr. Taylor is the proud wife of Nathan Taylor, MAcc, CPA. Together they have a four-year-old daughter and 16-month-old twin daughters. Dr. Taylor and her husband recently opened a PLLC, operating an accounting and consulting firm in Princeton, WV.
