Nikki Tennis

Nikki Tennis is the director of the Office of Children, Youth, and Families at the West Virginia Bureau for Behavioral Health (BBH).  With degrees in law, journalism, and communication studies, Nikki worked as a domestic violence attorney and then children’s services director at the state supreme court before serving in her current role since 2016. She is the past chair of the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD) Children, Youth, and Families Division, a new board member for the WV Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and prioritizes helping children, youth, and families thrive in their homes and communities.  The BBH Children’s Office administers grant programs for prevention, early intervention, and treatment services across the state.
